Come on, spill. What songs are you voting for in the world’s largest music poll?
Here’s my list.
- Air – Once Upon A Time
- Caribou – Melody Day
- Chemical Brothers – The Salmon Dance
- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Satan Said Dance
- Machine Translations – Need A Miracle
- Midnight Juggernauts – Tombstone
- Radiohead – House Of Cards
- Soko – I’ll Kill Her
- Spoon – My Little Japanese Cigarette Case
- Yacht – See A Penny (Pick It Up)
Everyone around me is sick of ‘Tombstone’ except for Youngest Boy; we listen to it constantly.
Love that Salmon Dance, as much for the fun facts as for Fatlip’s deadpan reactions to them.
I saw ‘Yacht’ live. He’s a very energetic young man. Yacht story: After a couple of numbers, he asked if there were any questions. I wanted to ask, “What were you like as a kid?” But someone else asked if she could have ten bucks. So he said that would be fine, if people from the audience wanted to donate some money. He soon found himself pelted with coins, and those Aussie ones are heavy, too. He gathered up the coins, and soon she had her ten bucks. I decided I liked him.

Well if they dont have Death Cab for Cutie or Sleater Kinney I ain’t voting. I’d much rather like to know who you would vote for in the primary and why.

Well, I was holding out for Gore, but as that looks increasingly unlikely, I guess it’s Edwards by a whisker for me. I’m not a Hillary fan — too Republican. Obama would be all right, but I like Edwards’ rhetoric. What can I say.
I’d be happy with any of them though really.

I find it kinda funny that you were holding out for Gore but like Edwards. You know they hate each other now. Gore gave his endorsement to Obama.
My first choice was Kucinich, He says all the things I think. But of course we all know he will never win.
I’d really like to see a hard (but not destructive) battle between Clinton and Obama that energizes new voters but finishes with them both on the ticket.
The thing I don’t like about Edwards is he still seems to think it’s important that HE win. I don’t mind strong debate BUT not at the expense of really hurting the national chances of whoever ends up the nominee.
Let’s never forget that Hillary was the first to try and give us all universal health coverage and we Americans let her down. She stood up for us and when the conservatives and insurance companies got out the pitch forks we all turned the other way and let them string her up. So, maybe as a result she has become a bit more practicle in her approach but I still don’t think she is philisophicly “republican” at all.

I do have to say that one of the nice things this election cyclewas that I have liked all the democrates running.
