Adventures in Juicing

Apple and orange
Fruity and delightful.

Apple, nectarine, and some grapes in the fridge that I wouldn’t have eaten
A boisterous and presumptuous palate, with slight mold notes. Orange nose (didn’t clean out juicer).

Apple and celery, including leaves
A horrible experience you can taste hours later. Leaves one wanting a flavor exorcism after.

Apple and strawberry
What you drink after the apple and celery.

Carrot and apple
Haven’t tried; the celery experience was too offputting.

Apple and orange (again)
Why mess with the classics?

  1. We have a juicer. Mum and Dad use it almost every morning with a bit of ginger, carrot, celery, orange and apple. They love it. I’m generally allergic to healthy things so I don’t drink it, but I make my own orange juice on weekends to go with my lunch. Two oranges hand-squeezed with a bit of soda water and a cold meat and salad roll is wonderful!

I’ve discovered Bickford’s Lemon & Barley cordial is great with soda water. But I’ve run out soda water. Drat.

That’s my juicy ramble for the day.

  2. pineapple and mint juice is best 🙂

  3. green apple, celery , carrot, parsley, beetroot and ginger. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Starts my day off with a bang and keeps me regular. (The trick with celery is to just use a small stick and balance it with something sweet …. you know, yin and yang and all that stuff.)

  4. I really liked Bickford’s Lemon & Barley cordial with soda water or regular water. I totally forgot about it until that comment. I don’t think you can get it outside of Australia.

  5. apple, beetroot and ginger is a suprisingly fine combination!

  6. My favourite: apple, carrot, parsley, cayenne pepper. I know, it sounds weird, but it’s wonderful.

I just stumbled on your site while searching for Octane, which I lost in having to reinstall my system. I’m happy to have this opportunity to thank you for your amazing fonts. I just love ’em. (Though now that Fontor.com is just a holding page, they’re increasingly difficult to find.)

I publish my novels through a micropress I run from home, selling tens of copies. Your fonts have figured importantly in the designs of my last two books. So, thanks again!

A page showing my book covers.
